A Guide to Correctly Applying Foundation

Steps to apply foundation

One applies the foundation on the face in order to have a face that looks like a delicate glowing marble without any scars or blemishes. But final results even with the best efforts makes the application of the foundation visible having a little chalky mask that makes it obvious that one has worn the foundation.

Here we have simplified the process of applying the foundation. Here every step, every product to be used and the technique that will help the person to get a natural look is discussed.

The first thing to do is clean the face if it has some leftover makeup or oil. For this one needs to swab the skin with the help of a cotton pad that needs to be soaked in the cleansing water in order to start the foundation regimen with a face that is free of oil.

If the foundation is flaky and dry the person will get a bad rap which can be the fault of the person applying the foundation. If the skin is properly hydrated with a good moisturizer and prepped correctly then the heaviest of all the matte foundations will still appear natural and soft. After cleansing a thin layer of moisturizer needs to be massaged all over one’s face. The cream needs to be penetrating into the skin for five to ten minutes prior to the application of the foundation.

Now one can start the application of the foundation. One needs to buy a foundation that is creamy, has medium coverage and that blends and matches the skin shade and type. One needs to add two pumps of this foundation in their palm and thereafter use the foundation brush for dabbing the foundation on the skin this needs to be started at the center and needs to be blended in the outward direction of the face.

In this step a damp makeup sponge is needed for dabbing and not smudging or swiping. The entire face needs to be dabbed so that the foundation can be melted seamlessly in the skin. The pointed tip of the sponge is used to blend the foundation around the eyes and the nose area.

If one does not want to feel the acne scars or the redness then the concealer needs to be tapped using the ring finger and needs to be set for 5 minutes which then lightly needs to be bounced using the tip of sponge on the concealer for blending it without smudging it. For this a full coverage and thick concealer needs to be used.

One needs to prevent their foundation from sliding and slipping off. For this a translucent powder needs to be dusted over the area of the face where the oiliness begins first. This is done using a fluffy brush which needs to be dipped into the powder that needs to be tapping off the excess oil and needs to be swirling over the nose, forehead and chin in concentric soft circles.

Finally the person gets to see the actual glowing, smooth and non-patchy face.
